Haydn started in motorsport in the 2000’s winning the NZ SuperGT title before becoming a regular competitor in the NZV8’s. Recently Haydn has competed on motorbike’s in Extreme Enduro’s completing Redbull Romaniacs 2017. He also campaigns in the ORANZ offroad series. In May 2018, Haydn competed in his first Targa in a Toyota 86, winning class 4 and 7th outright. Targa NZ saw a new car and the fight for the podium. Unfortunately crashing out on day 2 with a 1.30 minute lead. Haydn repaired the car overnight and won multiple stages over the following days including the iconic Crown Range.

Neil Allport built Mitsubishi new in 2013 as a Targa car for Brian Green to campaign. Leigh Hopper won Targa Hawkes Bay in this Evolution X in 2017. The Evolution still runs in production class with it’s factory 5spd gearbox but has Targa specific MCA suspension and Alcon Brakes. Now prepared and run by DNG Automotive it produces 300 KW at the wheels and was one of the fastest vehicles in Targa 2018 clocking up multiple stage wins.
